Focaccia Margherita Sandwich

Today my friend Krysten and I recreated Gretchen's Mozzarella Margherita Focaccia Sandwich. I usually pick up this 'shoebox' creation at my work only once every couple of weeks because of the steep price (about $5+ some change!) and each time I would have it, I couldn't help but think- "I can totally make this at home!" .... and I'm glad I finally did because it was delicious! I got the recipe for the focaccia from yummly- Michael's Focaccia Bread. The rest of the ingredients include: pesto, fresh sliced mozzarella, fresh basil/arugula spring mix, and roasted tomatoes (we just cut up some fresh ones and called it a day- maybe next time- which will surely be in the very near future :)).

  2. Thank you! I would highly recommend this recipe. The Foccacia bread turned out great for my first trial with it- it was delicious! I plan on playing with it and tweaking it in the future (it's not quite the way I'd like for it to be)... My goal is to have it taste like the one I had on my visit to Cinque Terre, Italy:

The one I had in Italy was much more airy- Michael's Foccacia recipe is much more dense.

I see you you are a Bakery owner? I'll have to stop by and have a taste if ever I'm in your neighborhood! The mediterranean delicacies you have on your site look delicious!
